Well this is our first blog so I'm just going to give everyone an idea of what we're all about. We are the Tebbit & McKenzie Family made up of Dan & Maggie Tebbit (who are both trying to retire - unsuccessfully!) and Russell & Ellie (formally Tebbit) McKenzie plus our two children Lily (4) & Sam (2). We are farmers who farm 500 acres of arable land and run Tebbits Farm Meats which is a Butchery, Farm Shop and Deli based in the village of Old Weston, on the Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire border.
We rear our own cattle here on the farm which eventually end up in the shop and we source more beef, lamb and pork from other local farms. We also sell chicken and duck from Suffolk, local game and wild venison.
We hand make all our own burgers and sausages, all of which are gluten free and we have a range of ready meals & pies, made using our own meat, and so much more!
We have a very well stocked deli with over twenty cheeses, three quarters of which are British - here's a fact, did you know that there are more cheese producers here in Britain than there are in France? Most of our cheeses are made by small artisan producers so you won't find them in the supermarkets, so come to our shop and try some!
Our aim here at Tebbits Farm Meats is to source as many products locally, then regionally and then we look throughout the rest of the UK. We believe that we Brits produce the most fantastic food in the world and we are keen to promote that. To prove this point we will shortly be replacing the Parma Ham on our deli with an Air Dried Ham from Cumbria. The French would never dream of selling Parma Ham from Italy when they produce their own version - so why should we?! We'll also be adding some British salamis to the range.
We also have lots of other goodies to compliment our meat and cheese, many of which are gluten free, so come and visit our shop where you are guaranteed fantastic personal service. For more info & directions visit our website http://www.tebbits.co.uk/
See you soon, Ellie
